Puzzle Music

An album design for marvellous, dreamy sound from Madalyn Merkey. Conceived with clockwork mechanisms in mind, Puzzle Music is precise and mysterious. The visual identity mirrors this tone—minimal, structured, and delicate, using refined typography and rhythmic layouts to evoke the album’s sonic landscape. An experiential extension was curated as a virtual sound visualizer for the track Escape Wheel. The piece reflects the composer’s desire to create images out of sparse sounds—to collect timbral colors arranged in a gradient procession and connect them until they create reason. Not knowing what the image will become, or what the picture even is. It is the act of placing sound shapes next to one another, in the hope that clarity will gradually be revealed.
